Ready or not…

Are you ready to see me? I am definitely ready to see you. While I’m game to come to your house, possibly on my bicycle, definitely masked, I know that not everyone is ready for in-person sessions. But maybe you’re ready for a Zoom-consult.

I know, for those of you who are used to me whipping your files into shape, prying that dingy T-shirt out of your hands in person, you might wonder how it could ever work via Zoom.

It is different, but I have been helping clients throughout the pandemic, and I’ve come up with ways to guide you through pretty much any project via Zoom, email and phone.

  • Make a Plan. Whether you just need someone to help you get your head around what needs to be done, and in what order, or you need me to break an overwhelming project into manageable chunks, creating a plan is the first step. You tell me your goal, I’ll give you achievable steps to work toward that goal, whether it’s creating a functional home office, clearing clutter in your bedroom, or moving to a new home.
  • Stay the Course. Whatever the project I can help you strategize and keep on-track: What is your next step? How did you do on the last one?
  • Evaluate. Tell me your organizational successes and failures, so we can figure out what hung you up, and what works best for you. This can be an introductory exercise to help you get started, and also a follow-up to fine tune how we tackle the next project.

An obvious benefit to Zoom is that I can help people outside the New York City area.  But I’ve also found that working via Zoom may force you to be more hands-on, so you may actually absorb my techniques better when you are the one executing them.

I’m a firm believer that organizing is a form of self-care, and we could all use a little self-care right about now. Maybe you just need a one-hour session so I can set you on a path, or maybe you want to do a weekly check-in to keep you focused on your organizational goals.

So if you’re ready to have an in-person session: Great, I’m ready. If you aren’t, but feel like you need some help getting out from under the clutter of months of being home, set up a Zoom session. You may even like it better with the screen between me and your beloved (but dingy!) Tee.
