Amanda’s 5th Made in the USA Holiday

Five years! I can’t believe how many cool things I’ve discovered since I started trying to shop USA for the holidays. This year we’ve also got a great guide on Pinterest, so check that out too.

Seems I’ve been picking up business cards and taking notes all year, because I’ve been seeing more and more stuff that is made in the USA. I’ve also noticed that big stores, like Nordstrom’s, allow you to search for made in the USA merchandise. Here are some of this year’s finds:

United By Blue: I ran across this business while I was buying a cup of coffee in Philadelphia. From watches to journals, they have a wide range of USA-made gifts under their own label and other like-minded companies, and their mission is to remove waste from the ocean. Hip design too!

When we were on Governors Island this summer we ran across the Local Color Truck, a traveling shop that sells only locally made goods. Luckily, they sell online as well. This sweater is great, and reasonably priced, too.

In my dress search earlier this year I discovered ModCloth, a great source for vintage-inspired made-in-the USA dresses, but also groovy, practical stuff, like these pretty glass storage bowls. Fridge to table, and no BPA.

My daughter got me this jigsaw puzzle for my birthday, and we had so much fun putting it together:

And who knew that Sorry was made in the USA?

For the man on your list, Karas Kustoms makes beautiful pens and neat portable speakers too.

I hope that your shopping is fun, your stress is low and your gifts are meaningful.
